Jamie and I and our three daughters live in a suburb of Indianapolis. I'm a Texan and Jamie's a native Indianan. Jamie's a cash management analyst who was, until this president's administration, a socially liberal Republican. I do non-profit work and was, until this president's administration, an independant moderate. We're optimists, Unitarian Universalists and democrats, but not the dirty hippy communist type.
We're not scientists and neither of us pretend to play one on our blog, but we can't continue to ignore the fact that we should be doing things to live greener.
Jamie's experience with trying to be eco-friendly is basically that he hasn't and mine was a brief stint when my oldest was born of shopping at Whole Foods Market for organic, free range, green cleaning products and recycled paper stuff to tote home in my string bags. I used cloth diapers for about one day, until a soiled one appeared and I said, "the earth can truly and seriously kiss my ass". My main thing since then and up until now has been to avoid pesticides, when possible, in our home.
This blog is to chronicle our adventures in the greening of our household and to share the information we find along the way.
Books to Read (we either have, or we"re planning to)
